Digital Awe exists in order to provide me (the writer) with a new avenue of worship to my great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Why not simply keep a private journal, you ask? Because a blog invites YOU to join me in worship, which is my second objective: to use the digital medium to spread genuine worship for God in readers like you.

You and I exist (and find ultimate, lasting fulfillment) when we more accurately reflect the glory of God as we live to do His perfect will. This “reflecting” is what we call “worship.” I (the writer) live to bleed and die the Gospel of Jesus Christ: that although we are sinful sinners before a holy and good God, He sent Immanuel (the God-Man) into our fallen world to live a perfect human life, die a bloody death, rise again the third day, and ascend to heaven to reign forever. In so doing, Jesus conquered my sin, Satan, and the curse for sin, which is death and condemnation. Only through repentant trust in this Savior can we begin to live the life we were intended to live: to find fulfillment by more and more accurately reflecting God’s glory while we submit to His will as our God.

Soli Deo Gloria

It’s nice to find you — I just started a Google alert for “Scott Whitaker” and you popped up today. My husband is K. Scott Whitaker (he was just elected mayor of our little town so that’s why I was on the alert for little articles about him). When I saw your name was the reverse of his, I thought that was cool. We are followers of Christ too (and our church is East Bend Baptist).

Many prayers that the rest of this year will be wonderful to and for you and your family and that you guys will have plenty of opportunities to bless and be blessed for God’s glory.

I am “lifein1stperson” on Twitter, which plays off of “legacy statements” that are part of what Scott and I do through our company, Whitline Ink. Every person (and family and place and company) has a legacy.
